Hello...I hope you can help. Looking for record of my grandfather in coal mines of Pa. - records show he lived in Shenandoah area about 1930. Is there a place to go with his name and find info? Granddaughter of Thomas Franklin Snyder, Linda

Did you have any luck, Linda.

I'm trying to do the same thing......looking forth birthplaces ( in Poland and Lithuania) of my Grandfather and Grandmother. Matalavage and shafransky were their Americanized last names.
I'm wondering if the coal companies have better records than st cashmire's church?

I just need the cities in those countries where they came from. That would be a great help.

Any info would be very happily received,

I have been using Ancestry.com and there has been a great deal of information there from census and miliatry records. I also found a group in Lithuania that will do the research of the home village for a fee.

My husband's great grandfather was crushed in the mine in 1919. His name was Stiney Analitis. Thanks for sharing this.
